On August 9, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as "CAAM") released data showing that in July, my country's new energy vehicle production and sales maintained rapid growth, and the sales of new energy vehicles accounted for a further increase in the proportion of total new vehicle sales, reaching 43.8%. The deputy secretary-general of the CAAM said that the auto market entered the traditional off-season in July, and some manufacturers took a high-temperature holiday, the pace of production and sales slowed down, and the overall market performance was relatively flat. However, new energy vehicles and automobile exports continued to maintain rapid growth year-on-year.


According to data from the CAAM, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in July were 984,000 and 991,000 respectively, up 22.3% and 27% year-on-year, and the sales of new energy vehicles reached 43.8% of the total sales of new vehicles. From January to July, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 5.914 million and 5.934 million respectively, up 28.8% and 31.1% year-on-year, and the sales of new energy vehicles reached 36.4% of the total sales of new vehicles.


In terms of exports, 469,000 vehicles were exported in July, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%. Among them, 366,000 traditional fuel vehicles were exported in July, a year-on-year increase of 25.7%; 103,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. From January to July, 3.262 million vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 28.8%. Among them, 2.554 million traditional fuel vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 34.6%; 708,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. "Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued the "Several Measures on Strengthening Support for Large-Scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade-in". The policy strength has been greatly improved compared with the implementation details issued on April 24, and both passenger cars and commercial vehicles have received subsidy support. The policy increase at the national level will further release the replacement demand in the stock market. In addition, with the continuous launch of new products by automakers, some local governments have relaxed purchase restrictions, increased issuance indicators and other multi-level measures, which will help achieve the expected goals for the whole year, and we also look forward to further recovery and growth in the auto market in August."


It is worth noting that the sales share of domestic brand passenger cars in July has further increased. Data shows that the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars in July were 1.323 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%, and the sales share reached 66.4%, an increase of 9.2 percentage points. From January to July, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars were 8.742 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.6%, and the sales share reached 62.6%, an increase of 8.8 percentage points.
